The 3 months plus that a civilian is away at Parris Island is some of the toughest military training in the world to endure. The recruits are tested immensely physically and mentally, and they come out of the crucible earning the title United States Marine. The moms, dads, girlfriends, boyfriends, brothers, sisters, grandparents, and any other family member left at home have quite an uphill battle as well. The anxiety of not knowing what your recruit is doing, if they are ok, and the mantra that no news is good news, is nerve wracking to say the least. This 6x9 lined, dated journal will give you somewhere to write your experience down. Whether you are going to share it with your new Marine, or keep it private to help you cope with the absence of your loved one, it's good to get these thoughts and feelings out so you can move forward.
