Growing up in Thailand, I was not exposed to the French Language until high school. When I started to learn French back then, I had no idea how much it would change my life many years later. In 2016, upon completing the Early Childhood Education program in Toronto, I got a job offer at a private school to teach French to elementary students. I was excited but also nervous as I had never taught French before. My husband who grew up in Toronto, warned me that many kids here, like him as a child, don't like learning French. I thought maybe they didn't have the right motivation. So, I decided to write a story book about my journey of learning French and how the French language has brought me all over the world. The book helped me to connect with students and it inspired many of them to enjoy learning French more than before. Being a Bilingual Early Childhood Educator in the Toronto District School Board gives me opportunities to share my stories with many young students. The positive feedback that I have received from students and teachers inspired me to publish this book. I hope that you will enjoy my story as well as my illustrations. But most of all, I hope that it will inspire you to want to learn French and see where it can take you.
