Autorenporträt
Robyn Gram-Barclay is an art teacher, a practicing artist and an award-winning author and illustrator. The 'My Good Friend, Ted!' picture book series was inspired by her son's affinity for sea creatures since he was a toddler. Written as a fun poem over the pandemic, Gram-Barclay workshopped the text of "My Good Friend, Ted!" with her students and once given the seal of approval, moved full speed ahead with the illustrations. During the following two years, two more books in the series, 'The Ocean of Colour' and Ted's Tale of the Tangled-Up Whale' were published. The 'Ted' series shares significant themes that children should take to heart including kindness, respect, diversity, acceptance, inclusion, and the importance of teamwork. Written in rhyme and illustrated in vibrant watercolour, each book will engage, enlighten and educate readers about spectacular sea creatures as well as caring for our oceans. Robyn Gram-Barclay is a Sponsor for the world renowned organization Save The Whales to which a portion of the proceeds are donated to help support educational programming and preserve and protect our global waters and magnificent marine life. Robyn Gram-Barclay resides in Bolton, Ontario, Canada with her husband, twin daughters, son, a cat, snake, and fish!
