Valerie C. Müoz has a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Bachelor's of Science in Child Development. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. in Depth Psychology, specializing in Integrative Therapy and Healing Practices. Valerie became pregnant at seventeen and began her family, resulting in four children, three grandchildren, and a thirty-three-year marriage that ultimately ended in divorce. She began her journey servicing at-risk communities through entrepreneurship and establishing a Family Day Care home for over twenty-five years. Over time, she has collaborated with many non-profit organizations, such as the Options Food Program, the International Institute of Los Angeles, Mexican American Opportunity Foundation, and the Department of Children and Family Services. Valerie's gift of working with trauma children from childhood motivated her to attend East Los Angeles College, where her journey to higher education began. Her experiences provided a means for her to raise her children and discover the vast need for mental health services. She has served in private practice, facilitating both victims and perpetrators, as ordered by the courts, for over six years for domestic violence, anger management, and parenting classes.Valerie's purpose in sharing her story is to uncover and reveal the hidden trauma that exists today and has gone without the benefits of psychotherapy.
