Raised in rural Nebraska, Heidi H. Speece received her Masters degree from the University of Pittsburgh and is currently a high school English teacher. When not playing fetch with Ernie, she enjoys traveling and photography. She lives in Virginia with Ernie Bert and her two cats, Lottie and Louis.
