He also discusses the importance of family and community , and the role that faith has played in his life. Roger worked in the Australian Radio industry for more than fifty years as an announcer at Sydney's 2UE and 2UW, in the 1960's and 70's, before transitioning into senior management roles in NSW and Western Australia. He also helped train a later generation of radio personalities and managers in the early days of the Australian Film, Television and Radio School. in 1999 he was awarded an OAM for services to regional tourism and to the Shoalhaven region of NSW.
