Joseph E. Chance is professor of mathematics at the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg. Chance's years of living along the Texas-Mexico border have prompted a keen interest in the war between Mexico and the United States and he has edited numerous diaries and reminiscences from that conflict. Wil Martin teaches art at the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg.
