When Pum learns why Elisha follows him; he begins to think differently about his role as a big brother. This story is for older siblings who learned to appreciate the little siblings who followed them. This story is also meant for younger siblings, who still look up to their older siblings as role models. Just like Pum and his little brother, we all learn from others. My Little Brother Elisha is written to celebrate childhood moments of growth and learning. The story aligns with the principles of teaching children self-regulation and can be used for teaching social-emotional learning competencies.

Autor

Chiquita M. Hughes is an energetic presenter, minister, student, and passionate educator who enjoys interacting with schools, community organizations, and families. Her mission in life is to improve the lives of others through song, word, or deeds. She currently fulfills that mission in the marketplace as an educational consultant and as the editorial assistant for the Journal of Marriage and Family Review, an international journal in family science. In her 20+ years as an educator, Chiquita has served in roles at school, district, state, and national levels. She has conducted over 2000 classroom visits and provided support to more than 70 districts across two states--Florida and Ohio. During those times, she has been blessed to work with amazing people and has collaborated to improve student achievement along the way. Chiquita receives inspiration for writing through faith, family, and friends. Several years ago, she dreamed of writing children's books when her four children were small. As a grandmother, Chiquita is especially motivated to pursue this dream as she spends quality time with her four beautiful and precocious grandchildren --Isaiah, Cletis III, Elisha, Grace, Daniel, and Caleah. She enjoys public speaking, music, writing, reading, consulting, singing and songwriting, poetry, motivating young people and family engagement. Most of all, she loves life and engaging with people.
