Merici Huggins was born and raised on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia. She is an avid reader. Growing up, she was fascinated with fairy tales, nursery rhymes, and the folktales that her mother and grandmother told her. She has continued the tradition by reading and creating stories with her sons. Merici became interested in aviation after her husband got his private pilot license. They frequently attend air shows including AirVenture in Oshkosh, WI.Merici currently lives in Minnesota with her husband Sean and her two sons Micah and Theodore. Theo Learns to Fly is Merici's first children's book.
