My Love Affair with the World is a travel journal compiled of more than sixty years of the memories, joys, and mishaps that a family experienced together during their journeys around the world. Author Douglas Powell's love of travel started when he was a teenager in 1944. Alone, he bought a $69 round-trip ticket and took a bus from New Jersey to California to visit family. On the way home, the bus stopped in Washington DC, where the young and naïve Powell decided to boldly traipse onto the White House grounds to take a better photograph of the Executive Mansion. When Secret Service agents surrounded him, Powell quickly learned that he had ventured further into the grounds than any other tourist had in a long time. He eventually took his photograph from outside the fence. Powell's diary entries, beginning in 1965 and ending in 2005, showcase the extensive travels that took him from the United States to New Zealand, from South Africa to Hong Kong, and from Morocco to Ecuador. Powell has filled his travel diary with fun and charming anecdotes that will entertain you as you visit faraway places through his eyes, helping you nurture your own love affair with the world.Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
