Rosalee Peppard Lockyer is an internationally recognized, award-winning Canadian women's musical oral-historian and writer, wife, mother and grandmother. While Rosalee has always written, since 1999 she has been a unique and scholarly artist, collecting and celebrating the authentic living voices of the women she interviews and researches. She then creates and shares her spellbinding "song portraits" and musicales of our national heroines such as L.M. Montgomery, in passionate, unforgettable performances. Rosalee has received two Dr. Helen Creighton Folklore Research Awards for her work.Peppard's music is steeped in the sea. She is bringing the rich maritime past to life in song.- Toronto StarOrganizations such as the CBC, The March Of Dimes, Toronto's Daily Bread Food Bank, Halifax's Metro Food Bank, The Elizabeth Bishop Society, Friends of Laura Secord, Titanic 100, The Lucy Maud Montgomery Society of Ontario, and more have embraced Rosalee's art and commissioned and used her songs and poetry as part of their commemorations. Rosalee is the Heritage Ambassador emerita of The Helen Creighton Folklore Society.
