Akilah W. Darden is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Architectural Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Marymount University. She is an author, mother, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and serial mentor. Akilah is married to Travis L. Darden for over 15 years. Akilah & Travis have four kids, authors Travis, Jr (JR), Aiden, Alana, and Tiana.As a kid, she loved LEGO sets and puzzles. In school, she loved math and problem solving. When she was in high school, she would spend hours drafting houses and isometrics. In college, she was going to be the next famous architect! Her love for people, negotiating, communicating, coordinating, collaborating, and knowledge of design lead her to construction. Construction is an industry where Akilah can use all her skills, passion, experience, and expertise to create infrastructure that will help people and communities. Isn't that what life is all about!?
