My Mommy Has Cancer But She's Still My Mommy was written for parents, children, and family members alike. Although the imagery and text is simplistic, the situation is far from it. Everyone needs to cope with what they are going through in their own way and Emilie has chosen to do so by sharing a little bit about what she learned along the way.

Autorenporträt
Emilie Scalise was born in Arizona and grew up in Smyrna, Georgia. She is now a Softball player for Columbus State University and a cofounder of the non-profit organization Strides For Survivors created by her and her sisters in 2017. She wrote a story to help young kids understand the changes that may occur if their family members go through breast cancer. As an 11 year old kid finding out that her mother had breast cancer was heartbreaking, but she has pushed through the pain in order to support those who may not understand what is going on in similar situations.
