Autorenporträt
While this story is entirely fictional, I couldn't help but be uncertain about publishing it. Because what right do i have to write such a tragic narrative that may be someones' reality? Yet when I told my best friend about my concerns, all he said was "But you are the daughter of a mother, isn't that right enough?". That made me realise that even if the story is made up, subconciously, my feelings have influenced the writing and that other daughters will ultimately have their own mirrored in it too. Because that's what daughters do: See themselves in their mothers past. Having graduated high school last year I am now free to explore different career paths. Thinking about my future led me to thinking about that of my mothers. How different our lifes were, are and will be, which is how I ended up writing this story.
