My Rhymes for Reasons is a collection of heartfelt, personal poems (Rhymes) with short descriptions (Reasons) by Wolrad, the pen name for Mark Darlow.EXCERPT from My Rhymes for Reasons by WOLRAD: INTRODUCTION: I've written countless little thoughts and rhymes to people I have run into in all of life's circumstances. From strangers to my friends and family, though especially to people at bars and restaurants. I grab a napkin and quickly write a thought. It usually rhymes and always, well almost always, makes a nice impression. I've learned through life that very few people have poems written for them. This small gesture often makes their day. Almost all the time, I don't rewrite them or keep a copy for myself. I do often put my email on the back and suggest they send me a copy. They usually never do. I've noticed something that does seem consistent. When I run into the person, they often say "Hey you're the guy that wrote me that poem. I have it on my refrigerator". Funny, but true. You never know when putting yourself out there for people to judge you will react. Regardless, I have been doing this for over 40 years and will till, well you know when. You will also see some of the many holiday and birthday cards I've created, and some of the sad memories when close friends and family leave us. My hope is that you enjoy all the emotion that I've brought to these poems. How often I laughed and too often cried as I finished that last line. That line always brings out the reason for the rhyme.
