Autorenporträt
My name is Marion Rose Horgan. I am married to a very patient husband and we have three children. I have lived most of my life in a little town called Ballynoe, just outside the town of Cobh, on the southwestern coast of Ireland. For over twenty years now, I have taught French and German at secondary level, ages 13 to 18. This is an occupation which I enjoy very much (most of the time!) and find both challenging and fulfilling. In recent years, I have been visited by a very creative muse, and began to write songs, poems and prose, all of which are directly related to the personal experiences I have had so far. In the summer of 2003, I decided to put them all together in a book, which, I feel, reveals much about my personal journey. To quote a well respected Irish film director, Jim Sheridan, quoting the much admired Irish poet, Patrick Kavanagh, in a recent interview in "Life" magazine: "the more personal you get, the deeper you go inside yourself, and the more people you touch" I hope this proves to be true in the case of this book, which I have called My Road.
