In 2005, Karen and Andy moved to Florida and later began the journey of home educating their five children. In 2010, by the grace of God, the entire family, including all the pets, escaped at midnight from their burning home. A few years after that life-altering experience, Karen became deathly ill and was misdiagnosed with stage IV Lymphoma. Once the Lord healed her through faith, prayer, and non-traditional medicine, the Lord laid on her heart to write My Simple Prayers. The book was written out of obedience to the Lord to share 31 of her "God stories." The stories are all true and inspirational showing the hand of God working miracles in the life of this modern-day woman. Additionally, she wrote an accompanying workbook designed to teach others the lessons she learned through those amazing God stories.

Autorenporträt
Karen Jensen Langsam is the wife of Andy and the mother of five amazing children, ranging in age from 18 to 28. She currently leads the prayer ministry, Parents In Prayer and Service (PIPS), at Saint Edward's School, leads a discussion group in the women's ministry, and serves with her youngest daughter in the children's ministry, both at Calvary Chapel in Vero Beach. Karen has her degree in Finance with an emphasis in Accounting, Computer Science, and Economics. After graduation from college, she worked at First National Bank of Chicago, then at IBM in their manufacturing sector, and later at BMC Software in their Open System Sales, an emerging new market.

When the Lord got her attention in 1998, Karen moved from the professional world into her new passion of being a stay-at-home mom. Five family moves gave Karen the opportunity to use the gifts the Lord had given her to volunteer and minister in churches from Canada to Texas to Florida. Her love for others has been expressed through many roles, including serving on and leading prayer and evangelism teams, and many different small groups including a year-long discipleship program, implementing the Move-On Ministry, serving as a youth leader, and more. She is very thankful and always excited to jump in on what the Lord calls her to do -all for His glory.
