An interesting trivia during College days While joining College, English evaluation test is kept to assess each student's ability and then he/she is allotted to either Group A - D (high level) or Group E -H (Average level). Forewarned by my seniors, I deliberately downplayed my performance in the evaluation test, but just couldn't squeeze into 2nd group and was allotted Section D! Reason to downplay is Group E - H basic syllabus and can get good marks without sweating it out, while the first group was full of prose, poems, dramas and prepare as hard as you might, getting 50% itself was, for me at least, a herculean task. Given this backdrop, when my friend, an engineer by profession and litterateur by passion suggested I write poems I inwardly thought he had gone 'bonkers'. Finally I succumbed to his persistent egging on and have come up with the basic template of what I thought a poem is/are. In case I have blasphemized the 'Queen's' language - so be it. Minor retribution to what the Britishers did to us, right?
