Man is said to be the most intelligent creature on this globe but Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex is a group of such smarter, sharper, and deadly organisms which emerged as our biggest rivalries. Almost all of the drugs made by human for the treatment of Tuberculosis are now non-functional. The causes behind it are negligence in taking the full course of medicine and high number of mutations in the genome of mycobacterium. These mutations make the target proteins resistant to these drugs. After so much of exploration and such a huge amount of data available for mycobacterium, till now only 44% of its genome is characterized so far. Rest all is still untouched. Researchers and scientists are looking for new drug targets in the mycobacterium genome. Scientific community is trying hard to find putative drug targets that should be targeted to win over this ever-evolving pathogen so that it can be defeated one day.
