Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is one of the most commonly performed surgical procedures. During the postoperative period, prolonged bed rest increases the possibility of systemic complications resulting from immobility. The aim of this study is to verify the effect of exercise on the cycle ergometer, without the use of the cycle ergometer and NIV on hemodynamic variables and peak expiratory flow (Peack Flow) in elderly patients after coronary artery bypass graft surgery. Physical exercise, both with and without the use of a cycle ergometer, is safe to perform in elderly revascularized patients in the intensive care setting and that greater care should be taken regarding the use of positive pressure NIV in this population.
