Joan returned to her hometown of Paintsville to begin educating elementary students.Joan Retired after 27 years of teaching. She served her students as a classroom teacher and later as a librarian. Joan and her husband had two children, Angela and Jeff.During her retirement, Joan decided to write her first book, Mystery at the Circus.
