This work attempts to merely begin a dialogue between two of the greatest thinkers of the twentieth century, namely, Martin Heidegger and Hans urs von Balthasar. It attempts to do so by investigating the place of myth in their thinking, paying particular attention to their revolutionary move towards an alethic understanding of truth in contradistinction to a propositionlist model. Once this move is made and myth is understood on the basis of an alethic model of truth, then myth can in turn be seen as the revelation of the beauty of Being. If myth is seen in this way, the possibility of a new commerce between Being and the sacred can be rethought, thus reawakening something of the wonder of/at Being in our times of desacralization.
