This book applies physical theories and models to determine the parameters for controlling the physicochemical properties of nanomedicines, including micelles, liposomes, and inorganic nanoparticles. Qualitative and quantitative relationships are established to provide guidance for nanomedicine design, characterization, and analysis.

Wei Li is professor at Naval Medical University (NMU), China, and director of the Department of Nanomedicine and principal investigator at Shanghai Key Laboratory of Cell Engineering, NMU. He also started a new nanomedical lab at NMU under a special talent program. Dr Li has published over 73 peer-reviewed papers, is chief editor of Nano Physical Pharmaceutics, has created a series of key parameters and qualitative as well as quantitative relationships, and has independently designed five sets of equipment for the translation of nanomedicine, with several products in the trial stage and two formulations successfully translated to application. His research focuses on nano physical pharmaceutics, fine nanocarrier engineering, and nanoimmunotherapy.
