Numerous attempts have been reported to improve the properties of the denture base acrylic resin, but most of them were not transferred to the clinical dentistry due to processing difficulties and/or high costs. The advanced procedure in this study using silica nano-particles and microwave radiations to improve the material's properties has the advantage of being a much cheaper solution than the other reinforcement options already present on the market. Besides, the protocols in this study require neither special equipments nor unconventional conditions. This would reduce the cost of manufacturing and repairing removable dental prostheses while benefiting of improved material that withstands better the oral conditions. This work highlighted an innovative solution to a problem constantly reiterated by both patients and dentists related to the frequent fracture and fatigue failures of removable dental prostheses.
