In this research work, the effect of nanocomposite coating to mechanical, infrared radiation blocking and optical properties of PE substrate before and after weathering was investigated systematically. The final goal in this work was to identify commercially available products that either transmitted or blocked IR wavelengths between 7 to 13 microns and at the same time had the characteristics of transmitting high levels of PAR and being stable under ambient solar UV radiation.There are no previous publications in this respect that we know of.

Dr.Ching Yern Chee graduated from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, University Technology Malaysia. Dr.Ching obtained her DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY in Mechanical Engineering in 2011 from the University of Malaya. Her research focus is polymer composite, biopolymer, nanocomposite coating & biobased nanomaterials.
