Autorenporträt
Dr. Parimelazhagan Thangaraj is a professor and head of the Department of Botany at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore in India. He received his PhD in Botany from Bharathiar University and underwent his postdoctoral fellowship in Pharmacology at University of Hawaii, USA. His field of interest encompasses focused research in bioprospecting of medicinal plants, phytomedicine, pharmacology and nutraceutical development. He and his team works on developing plant-based remedies for diseases in an effort to cure them with fewer side effects. He holds four patents and is the Founder, Director of the Intellectual Property Rights Cell of the University. He is a reviewer in many journals and holds editorship in peer-reviewed journals. Recently, he was conferred as the fellow of Royal Society of Biology, London and fellow of Linnean Society, London. Dr. Lucindo José Quintans Júnior is a professor in the Department of Physiology at the Federal University of Sergipe in Brazil. He received his PharmD and PhD (in Pharmacology) degrees from the Federal University of Paraiba in Brazil and performed his postdoctoral fellowship in neuroscience and nanotechnology at the University of Iowa, USA. His research focuses on the study of pharmacological properties of essential oils and their secondary metabolites, especially terpenes, used for the control of chronic pain and inflammatory processes and the molecular or cellular mechanisms of natural products to produce their pharmacological action, especially involving animal models. Moreover, the investigation of novel inclusion complexes containing cyclodextrins with natural products is an additional area of his scientific interest. Dr. Nagamony Ponpandian, PhD, FASCh, FRSC is a professor and head of the Department of Nanoscience and Technology, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore in India. He received his PhD in physics-material science from the University of Madras, Chennai. He has completed postdoctoral fellowship at Germany and USA in materials science. His current research interests are nanomaterials and thin films for energy devices, sensors and biomedical applications. His research group is working on biosensors, green energy production by water splitting, environmental remediation and monitoring by preparing and modifying the functional properties of various nanomaterials. He is a reviewer in many peer-reviewed journals and is the editorial board member of Scientific Report, Nature Publishing Group since 2014. He has been listed as world's top 2% scientist based on the Scopus database.
