Various compounds are synthesized and tested to sensitize tumor cells to radiation. Among the various nitro-heterocyclic hypoxic cell radiosensitizers,Sanazole commonly referred as AK2123 has been shown to have less toxicity in normal cells and have selective toxicity for hypoxic cells. The present work focuses on the radiomodifying property of sanazole and its nanoparticles complex in Dalton's Lymphoma Ascites (DLA)cells. These data suggest that this approach could be used for tumors raising the hope of targeted therapeutic agents with the ability to interfere specifically with tumor cell growth.
