David H. Pinkney (1914–1993) was a historian of the French Revolution and the postrevolutionary era. He taught at the University of Washington and cofounded the Society for French Historical Studies. His books include Decisive Years in France, 1840–1847 and The French Revolution of 1830 (both Princeton).
