These polyps are the result of chronic inflammation of the nasosinus mucosa, with eosinophilic infiltration characteristic of the disease. Its pathophysiology remains poorly understood, and several studies and theories have attempted, and continue to attempt, to explain it. This obscure pathophysiology makes the aims of treatment, whether medical or surgical, not to cure this pathology, but rather to improve symptoms and quality of life for these patients.
