It takes a while for Nate and his younger brother, Ricky, to adapt to this foreign place. Ultimately, they meet Toshiko, a girl who grew up understanding the Ryukyuan culture. Together, they set off for a bicycle trip to the ruins of Nakagusuku Castle, only to be followed by a villainous gang of Stealy Boys. Adding to the threat of this hot pursuit, the group encounters a series of shady activities surrounding the castle, most notably an evil zoo, where exotic animals are mistreated in horrendous confinement. Autorenporträt
The author has a bachelor's degree in social studies and a master's degree in education and enjoys teaching upper elementary and middle school students. The Nate Connors series is based on his personal experiences as a boy and young man living in different places in the world. In addition to writing, his hobbies include travel, hiking, soccer, and art. He and his wife have four daughters and one son.
