Non-integrated approach, trade imbalance between the countries, unwillingness from the hierarchy, awareness of the bordering people, political involvement both from within and outside are the few major challenges of effective border management. The corner stone of the suggested option is to develop an effective cooperation mechanism among the various stake holders. At national level, integrated border management system with a robust mechanism for cooperation within related agencies, Bi-lateral cooperation and International cooperation for establishing a regional forum and international forum among border guarding forces should get the highest priority for peaceful border management. Besides, modernization and adoption of smart border management concept will lead to better border management also.

Generalleutnant Abul Hossain, geboren 1962, ist Absolvent des Bauingenieurwesens, Master of Defence Studies, Fellow of Institute of Engineers und APCSS. Im Laufe von 36 Jahren bekleidete er viele wichtige Posten in der Armee von Bangladesch, unter anderem als Generaldirektor des Grenzschutzes von Bangladesch. Er hat an der UNPKO und der OKP teilgenommen. Er hat eine Reihe von Veröffentlichungen vorzuweisen.
