Produktbeschreibung
Natural convection shell and coil heat exchanger, which is the primary application of the subject of this book has been relatively less explored than most heat exchanger types and yet has potential application in a wide variety of industries including solar water heating. This book provides empirical correlations that would permit rational design of these relatively new heat exchangers and thereby lower the cost of development. Although further work may be required to widen the range of flow parameters, the results presented in this book are scalable and the correlations can be applied in designing similar exchangers with reasonable accuracy. Originally written as a thesis in partial fulfilment of the author's doctoral degree in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, DalTech (formerly Technical University of Nova Scotia), Halifax, NS Canada, this book provides the basis for designing and rating natural convection shell and coil heat exchangers employing one to four coils.
