Natural fibres like jute have attracted worldwide attention as a potential for making reinforced polymer composite because of their low price, low density, light weight, easy processing ability, renewability, recyclability and non-abrasive, non-hazardous and bio-friendly characteristics. In the present write up, jute fibres in the form of Slivers have been reinforced with epoxy resins to prepare high strength composites. An attempt has been made to improve upon the mechanical performance of the composite while trying to increase the percentage of fibre loading to have a low cost material.
