Banana tract of South Gujarat under various toposequence is highly variable and there were lot of constraints viz., climate, soils and water which limit the banana productivity. Consequently, these regions suffer from a high diurnal variation due to sea cost. The adoption of monocropping system especially in ratoon banana was the most prominent reason of declining soil fertility status imposing pressure on the available land, which in turn results decrease the production, productivity and profitability.
