Voted as one of the official state poems of Tennessee, My Beloved Tennessee, was penned by Marlene Tidwell. Her recent book, Nature Sings, is a beautiful collection of poems, photography and vignettes inspired by nature and its seasons. Each poem leads the reader to a place of calm and serenity as they gaze upon the canvas of printed words and become enthralled by the beauty and bliss of nature. In her poem, Midnight's Mystery, nature sings through the night as the moon and lake dance rocking the reader into a tranquil peace. The soothing symphony will play on your heart as you discover the secrets of nature in each verse. The natural world comes alive as scenes are painted through the printed word in each poem of this pastoral collection. The green world of grass, trees and plants mingle together to sing the lyrics in each line in Nature Sings. Clouds, fancy and free ride through a summer's night in Gliders in the Sky and will whisk you away to the valley of serenity where the stress and worries of the day will vanish. Prepare to be moved by the elegant writings of the poet that learned to write on the front porch of a farm in Tennessee.
Autorenporträt
Author of one of Tennessee's official poems, Marlene grew up on a farm in a rural town in Tennessee. Her journey of writing began as a child on the front porch as she gazed upon the beauty that surrounded her. Gathering her notebook and pen she headed to the edge of the porch where she dreamed and dared to pen the language of her heart to paper. After finishing college, she worked as a corporate tax accountant for a large hospital corporation in Nashville. She has served as director for several non-profits and served her community through different non-profits throughout the years. She has had poems published in publications, and in 2021 her poem My Beloved Tennessee was voted by the 112th Tennessee General Assembly as one of the official state poems of Tennessee. In her book, Nature Sings, she captures the beauty and essence of nature, and a wide array of subjects through the expression of vivid images.
