MARION HAMILTON CARTER (1865-1937) was an American educator and writer of both fiction and nonfiction during the Progressive Era. She was noted for her investigative journalism in a variety of areas but most notably for women's suffrage. Carter became managing editor of a major muckraking periodical, McClure's Magazine, in 1908.
