Negro-African poetry, written through Négritude and Neo-Oralism, is an expedient for the emancipation of black peoples. However, poetry seems so far removed from reality that the experience of emancipation through it seems impossible. It has enabled them to rehabilitate their psychology and identity. Negro-African poetry is a showcase for African culture, traditional values and cosmogony. Finally, this research clearly shows that poetry, beyond being a means of expressing community visions, can be a springboard for qualitative change in social existence.
