High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The NEL (Norddeutsche Erdgasleitung) is a planned 370 kilometres (230 mi) long natural gas pipeline in Germany. The pipeline will run from Greifswald to Achim about 100 kilometres (62 mi) from Rehden. It will connect the planned Nord Stream pipeline with the Rehden-Hamburg gas pipeline. Together with the MIDAL pipeline it will create a Greifswald-Bunde connection. The diameter of the pipeline will be 1,200 millimetres (47 in). The capacity is planned to be 20 billion cubic meters of natural gas per annum. The developer of the pipeline asked exemption from the network access and transit fees regulation; however, this request was denied.
