The purpose of the book is to provide the techniques for detection and identification of neotectonic signatures from geomorphology of soft sedimentary terrain using remote sensing (RS) techniques. It remains still a matter of challenge to identify the signatures of the ongoing tectonic activities in thick and soft sediment covered landmass because a clear understanding on the interaction between the electromagnetic energy of various wavelengths and the terrain condition is necessary for optimum utilization of RS techniques. Examples from such terrain are not common because little work has so far been done in this direction. The book is the outcome of a PhD research done in the northern Bengal Basin in Bangladesh. Major part of Bangladesh is covered with unconsolidated Holocene sediments of fluvial, deltaic and estuarine environments, and affected by ongoing tectonic activity. The book may be of help of the students, researchers and professionals working in the fields of geological and geomorphological mapping, neotectonic research, earthquake and other natural hazard assessment, urban and development planning, floodplain and coastal zone management, geoarchaeoogical survey etc.
