Neshanic Station contained only a handful of residences until railroad lines led to the commercial and residential expansion of the village in the late 1800s. Today, these two villages exist mainly as residential communities but are linked with the past through the lifelong ties to the villages by their residents. While the commerce that once occupied this area is gone, its sense of community remains.
