Netroots Nation is a political convention for American progressive political activists, originally organized by readers and writers of Daily Kos, a liberal political blog. It was previously called YearlyKos. The 2009 Netroots Nation conference was held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from August 13-16 and featured former President Bill Clinton and former DNC Chairman and Vermont governor Howard Dean among others. Netroots Nation amplifies progressive voices by providing an online and in-person campus for exchanging ideas and learning how to be more effective in using technology to influence the public debate.
