smart personal devices, the increasing availability
of high speed wireless access points, and the
emergence of vehicular networks and applications. In
this context, this book presents a holistic vision of
network solutions that enable a top quality
interactive online gaming experience regardless
whether the player is wired, wireless, or even riding
a vehicle. The main issues covered by this book are:
i) synchronization mechanisms for Internet server
overlay networks that enables scalability, fairness,
and interactivity; ii) elastic (TCP) and real-time
(games) flows coexistence in a wireless access point;
iii) fast multi-hop broadcast schemes for efficient
game event delivery to players in vehicles.
Autorenporträt
Claudio E. Palazzi is an assistant professor at the Department of
Pure and Applied Mathematics of the University of Padua. His
research interests are primarily focused on the design and
analysis of communication protocols for wired/wireless networks,
with an emphasis on multimedia entertainment applications.
