Kathryn Tanner completó su doctorado en Geografía Ambiental en la Universidad de Cambridge. Kathryn ha sido becaria Fulbright en Madagascar, becaria de investigación de la Universidad de Cambridge y del Darwin College (financiada por el Consejo de Investigaciones Económicas del Reino Unido) y profesora adjunta visitante en el Sarah Lawrence College y en la Universidad de Brown.
