This book emphasizes on finding the role of Metabotropic Glutamate Receptors (mGluRs) in synaptic facilitation and depression in controlling synchrony of the oscillatory activities produced by the neurons by the pharmacological manipulation of the presynaptic Metabotropic Glutamate Receptors in the theta, beta and the gamma frequency ranges. The data thus indicate that pharmacological manipulations of the presynaptic receptors will affect the network activity and synchrony in the medial entorhinal cortex (mEC).

Salahuddin Mohammed, born in Salalah, Oman got his Masters in Pharmacology degree in 2009, from the prestigious Aston University, UK. He has previously worked as Assistant Lecturer in India. Two of his articles are published in International Journals. Currently he is an Associate Professor of Pharmacology at Mizan Tepi University, Ethiopia.
