Mark F. Bear ist Picower Professor of Neuroscience und Direktor des Picower Center for Learning and Memory am Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences sowie Forscher am Howard Hughes Medical Institute des Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Einen Teil seiner Postdoc-Zeit hat er in der Arbeitsgruppe von Wolf Singer am Max-Planck-Institut für Hirnforschung in Frankfurt verbracht.
