A simplified neutron spectroscopy system based on successive rectangular parallel layers of BF-3 followed sequentially by water layers is designed. The response matrix and the unfolding approach of the detectors are simulated and estimated using MCNP-4C for the proposed system. Two different dimensions are investigated. MCNP-4C is used to estimate the response functions of both systems. Water as a common liquid moderator is used instead of solid paraffin in developing this system.
