Richard Gonyeau, a local historian for over 30 years, has a master's degree in history from Eastern Michigan University and was a recipient of the Alexander Macomb Award and named Citizen of the Year for New Baltimore. Robert Mack, a member of the New Baltimore Historical Society for over 30 years, won its Award of Merit as well as the Citizen of the Year distinction for New Baltimore. Alan Naldrett, author of Images of America: Chesterfield Township and academic librarian at Baker College, has a master's degree in library and information science, as well as a graduate archivist certificate.
