Emma thought that she was finally going to get to start living the life she had always wanted for herself. Quiet, drama-free, happy. She never intended to be a single parent, but she devoted herself to giving Mark a happy childhood. Their house was chaotic, over run with toys, never-ending-laundry and love. Lots of love. There was never anyone to lean on, though. She was so tired. She didn't regret one moment of the last twenty-three years, but where had the time gone? Suddenly, she looked up and she was forty-something; What now? A fresh start, down a new path. What she didn't count on, was the twist in her path; in the form of an intriguing stranger, a dilapidated old house, and a deadly disease. If she thought the first half of her life had been rough, her limits were about to be tested again!

Autorenporträt
I've been a public school teacher for 25 years. I've spent most of my life in the great Pacific Northwest of the United States. I have loved camping, hiking, boating, and road trips around Washington and Oregon states. The wildlife, weather, friendly people, and beautiful scenery make living here a gift to be savored every day! I am the proud parent of a wonderful young man. I enjoy art, music, nature, and quiet life. This didn't start out as a book. I was writing for myself alone, while my son was in cancer treatment. The storyline sort of took on a life of its own, at some point. It's mostly fictionalized, but my own life experiences have informed and infused the plot. It helped me cope during a difficult time. I hope others can see something familiar, or entertaining, within the pages of this story as well.
