The Policy Paper a "New Deal for Serbia" results from eleven years (2008-2019) of multidisciplinary research, a series of seven thematic roundtable discussions attended by dozens of national and international experts, and in-depth interviews with one hundred experts, decision-makers, and opinion leaders. The Policy Paper analyzes the determinants of the current situation and development trends of Serbian society, Serbian state, and overall development of the country. The notion of a "New Deal" stands for a comprehensive program of structural reforms based on social consensus. The program is an alternative to the ruling paradigms attempting to run the economy by way of neoliberalism, while in reality it has been done at the level of ideology and propaganda, following ethno-nationalist populism. The Policy Paper points to the core values, principles, and measures aimed at achieving sustainable development.
