Verita E. Pax was raised on a vegetable farm in upstate New York. She attended college at SUNY Cortland and later obtained her doctorate in pharmacology at the University of Florida, a field in which she's worked ever since. New Friends and Lemonade is Pax's debut publication. She is a member of The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCWBI) and is passionate about children's fiction that contains positive messages of kindness and inclusion.
